About this project
Education of a Free Black Child is a docuseries that will feature Black families that are participating in the “unschooling” movement, an educational philosophy that advocates learner-chosen activities as a primary means for learning.
The series will take a look into the specific effects that this alternative way of learning and living can have for a Black child in America, and will let Black parents and students tell their own stories about the trials and triumphs of living an unschooled life.
